About Kent
Since I was young, I have always enjoyed drawing and painting. I have come to realize that the colors I use and the subjects I paint reflect my inner being. I am fascinated by the way light affects how we view the world. Rich shadows and colorful contrasts resonate throughout my artwork.
I grew up in Commerce, Georgia, and now reside in Jefferson, GA. I have always enjoyed drawing and started painting as a teenager. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997, receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in drawing and painting. I have shown my work at various shows, salons, libraries, and galleries including Chateau Elan in Braselton, GA, and the Sunshine Gallery in Watkinsville, Ga.
My most enjoyable medium is oil paint. I also enjoy woodworking, charcoals, pottery, and colored pencils among other things. I have often been commissioned to paint portraits, but I love painting landscapes, water scenes, and cityscapes as well.
As much as I enjoy painting, I love my family even more. My wife, Anna, is my biggest supporter, as well as my harshest critic. My children, Satchel, Adrian, and Sophia, like to share their own opinions about my artwork. Surprisingly, their observations are often correct. Many of my extended family and friends have enjoyed my artwork over the years, and I hope to continue to share my work with others.
